(Eagle News) — Philippine National Police Chief Oscar Albayalde on Monday, July 30, urged the former Makabayan bloc lawmakers who have been ordered arrested by a court to surrender peacefully.

“The PNP is duty-bound to implement orders of judicial authorities,” Albayalde said, as he called on Satur Ocampo, Liza Maza, Teddy Casiño and Rafael Mariano to turn themselves in.

Apart from the four, Judge Evelyn Turla of the Regional Trial Court 40 of Palayan, Nueva Ecija ordered Vicente Cayetano, Delfin Pimentel, and Emerisio Antalan arrested for the murder of supposed critics of Bayan Muna in the city.

According to Albayalde, he was giving the group one week to surrender.

“Of course, kung talagang kinakailangan talagang i-serve, kautusan naman ng korte ‘yan whether you’re a government official or not,” he said, giving them the assurance they would be treated with “respect.”
