(Eagle News) — A 4.8-magnitude earthquake struck Davao del Sur on Wednesday, Dec. 18.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 2 kilometers southwest of Magsaysay at 8:22 a.m.
The quake, with depth of focus at 7 kilometers, hit only minutes after a 5.3-magnitude tremor hit the province, with its epicenter in Padada.
The following intensities and instrumental intensities were reported in the 4.8-magnitude quake:

Intensity IV – Bansalan, and Digos City, Davao del Sur
Intensity II – Davao City
Instrumental Intensities:
Intensity IV – Malungon, Sarangani
Intensity II – Kidapawan City, Cotabato; Davao City; Koronadal City, and Tupi, South Cotabato
Intensity I – Alabel, Sarangani
No damage to property nor aftershocks were expected.
On Sunday, a 6.9-magnitude earthquake struck Mindanao, leaving at least nine people dead and several injured.
