PANAY Island, Philippines – According to the Armed Forces of the Philippines, the first activities of the “Balikatan” Exercise 2016 were already conducted in Panay, near Capiz and Palawan despite the scheduled April opening ceremony. Said activities include the rehabilitation of five school facilities in the said island, as well as medical missions. The joint exercise centers on humanitarian assistance, maritime law enforcement and environmental protection.
