Trillanes on whether he would stay indefinitely in the Senate: “Yun yung advice sa akin”

(Eagle News) — Senator Antonio Trillanes IV on Wednesday, Sept. 5, said he had no plans of leaving the Senate premises so far.

Trillanes made the comment in an interview with reporters in the Upper House, where he spent the night following the revocation of the amnesty granted to him by former President Benigno Aquino III.

“Kasi hindi valid..Instinct ko nga kahapon ay magwalk in na ako..If we’re going to turn ourselves in voluntarily, ang mangyayari doon, di mo na maquequestion ang validity, legality ng warrantless arrest,” he said.

Asked if his stay in the Senate would be indefinite, he said “Yun yung advice sa akin.”

He said it was a “long night” for him in the Senate, as he and his camp talked about the “petitions” to be filed in the coming days.

“What was evident was ang basis ng presidential declaration ni Duterte ay isang malaking kapalpakan at kasinungalingan,” he said, presenting what he said were copies of the court’s dismissal of the cases of coup d’etat and rebellion.

He lashed out at Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra, Solicitor General Jose Calida, Prosecutors Richard Fadullon and Juan Pedro Navera, calling them “incompetent.”

“Mr. Duterte, pumirma ka ng waiver. Babalik tayo diyan,” he said.
