Women’s groups hold protests to mark International Women’s Day

QUEZON CITY, Philippines (Eagle News) –To mark International Women’s Day, various women’s groups on Thursday, March 8 conducted protests in Mendiola, Manila.

Several groups condemned the Duterte administration for failing to promote the protection of women.

They also criticized the government because of what they said were the hardships brought by the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN) law to ordinary housewives.

The group “Oriang” called the President “paasa” claiming he did not fulfill his promise to end contractualization.
