With Duterte EO, Philippine Aerospace Development Corp. now under DND admin supervision

(Eagle News)—-The Philippine Aerospace Development Corp. is now under the administrative supervision of the Department of National Defense.

This was after President Rodrigo Duterte signed Executive Order No. 78 ordering the changes for the government-owned and -controlled corporation aimed at  “maximizing the national utility of the aviation and aerospace industry.”

The GOCC was attached to the  Department of Transportation, then the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, based on EO No. 546.

In making the move, Duterte said the attainment of the objectives in the Philippine Development Plan 2017-2022 “requires that the government ensure the effective, efficient and economical management and operations of relevant agencies and instrumentalities, as well as the coordination of programs and policies.”

“The relevant provisions of EO No. 546 (s. 1979) and all executive orders, rules and regulations and other issuances or parts thereof, which are inconsistent with this order are hereby revoked, amended or modified accordingly,” Duterte said.
