Watch: Super Typhoon Rolly’s fury as it hit Guinobatan, Albay with over 225 kph winds, intense rains

(Eagle News) — In this video by Eagle News Service correspondent Rebert Seriao in Guinobatan, Albay, Super Typhoon Rolando’s fury is seen as it hammered the area with intense rains and winds of more than 225 kilometers per hour.   The video taken in Bgy. Travesia in Guinobatan, Albay was at around 7 a.m., on Sunday, Nov. 1, 2020.

There was nearly zero visibility in the area for around two hours, from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m., at the height of Super Typhoon Rolly which made landfall over Tiwi, Albay at 7:20 a.m..

Albay and Camarines Sur were placed under Tropical Wind Signal No. 5 by PAGASA, the country’s weather bureau, on Sunday as the strongest typhoon to hit the country barreled over Luzon.

Metro Manila and 13 more provinces were under Signal No. 4.

The areas under Signal No. 4 as of 8 a.m. are the following: Catanduanes, Camarines Norte, the northern portion of Sorsogon (Donsol, Pilar, Castilla, Sorsogon City, Prieto Diaz, Gubat, Barcelona, Juban, Casiguran, Magallanes), Burias Island, the central and southern portions of Quezon (Real, Mauban, Perez, Alabat, Quezon, Calauag, Tagkawayan, Guinayangan, San Antonio, Tiaong, Dolores, Candelaria, Sariaya, Tayabas City, Sampaloc, Lucban, Lucena City, Pagbilao, Atimonan, Padre Burgos, Agdangan, Unisan, Plaridel, Gumaca, Lopez, Buenavista, San Narciso, San Andres, San Francisco, Mulanay, Catanauan, General Luna, Macalelon, Pitogo), the central and southern portions of Rizal (Tanay, Antipolo City, San Mateo, Cainta, Taytay, Binangonan, Teresa, Morong, Cardona, Baras, Jala-Jala, Pililla, Angono), Batangas, Cavite, Metro Manila, Laguna, Marinduque, the northern portion of Romblon (Concepcion, Corcuera, Banton), the northern portion of Occidental Mindoro (Abra de Ilog), and the northern portion of Oriental Mindoro (Puerto Galera, San Teodoro, Baco, Calapan City, Naujan, Pola, Victoria, Socorro, Pinamalayan)

These areas will experience “very intense typhoon” as well with winds of greater than 171 km/h up to 220 km/h may be expected in at least 12 hours.

Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 5 is in effect over Albay and Camarines Sur. PAGASA said that these areas will experience “very intense typhoon” with “very strong winds of more than 220 km/h” which may be expected in at least 12 hours.
