(Eagle News) — Political analyst Prof. Ramon Casiple talked about the qualities that defined the three years of the presidency of President Rodrigo Duterte during the Eagle Broadcasting Corporation’s special coverage of the 2019 State of the Nation Address.
Casiple noted the high appoval rating of Duterte, even with the controversial war on drugs of the Duterte government, and how his political will had defined his presidency.
Casiple, executive director of the Institute of Political and Electoral Reforms (IPER), also said that the Duterte government is still continuing to push for federalism and electoral reforms.
He said the window of opportunity for federalism is the next 15 to 18 months.
“Pero beyond that wala na,” he noted.
Casiple said that federalism needs enough votes to push through, and talks about the different modes on how this can be done.
