(Eagle News) — Classes in San Juan are suspended on certain days because of the Southeast Asian Nations Games.
In a memorandum dated Nov. 29, Mayor Francis Zamora said the suspension on the school days that coincide with scheduled game days at the FilOil Flying V Center applies to all levels in both public and private schools.
Zamora said the 3 on 3 basketball games and e-sports competitions will be held on December 1, 2, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10.
“The City Government of San Juan highly encourages our youth to witness firsthand the SEA Games and to recognize the value of the games to the ASEAN region – socially, economically and politically,” Zamora said.
He said the suspension was also “to alleviate the expected high volume of traffic within the City and to ensure the timely, efficient and orderly transport of the participating athletes, team and country officials.”
