Typhoon “Liwayway” continues to decelerate as it moves over PHL Sea

Is expected to exit PAR between tomorrow afternoon and evening

(Eagle News)–Weather conditions are expected to improve with Typhoon “Liwayway” forecast to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility between tomorrow afternoon and evening.

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said “Liwayway,” which is located 345 kilometers northeast of Basco, Batanes, continues to decelerate as it moves over the Philippine Sea.

It is packing maximum sustained winds of up to 130 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 160 kph and is moving north northeast.

PAGASA said occasional gusty conditions may still occur in Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Zambales and Bataan due to the southwest monsoon though.

Between today and tomorrow morning, “Liwayway” will also bring light to moderate with intermittent heavy rains over Batanes and Babuyan Islands.

Sea travel is risky, especially for those using small seacraft, over the northern and western seaboards of Luzon due to potentially rough sea conditions, PAGASA said.
