(Eagle News) – The country’s weather bureau, PAGASA, warned that continuous monsoon rains may “trigger flashfloods and landslides” over Metro Manila with moderate strong winds.
As of 3 a.m. today, Thursday, July 27, the center of Tropical Storm “Gorio” (Nesat) was estimated based on all available data at 595 kilometers east northeast of Casiguran, Aurora with maximum sustained winds of 85 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 105 kph.
PAGASA said rains will also affect Ilocos, Cordillera, Central Luzon CALABARZON and the provinces of Mindoro and Palawan which can also be affected with floods and landslides
It is forecast to move north northwest at 13 kph. PAGASA said the southwest monsoon will continue to affect Luzon and Western Visayas.
On Wednesday night, at 11 p.m., it said that tropical storm “Gorio” could even intensify into a into a Severe Tropical Storm within the next 24 to 36 hours.
