Tropical Depression “Chedeng” makes landfall over Davao Occidental, weakens into a low pressure area

(Eagle News) — Tropical depression “Chedeng” has made landfall over Malita, Davao Occidental and has weakened into a low pressure area, with PAGASA lifting all of the tropical cyclone warning signals in the country.

PAGASA said that Chedeng made landfall at 5:30 a.m. today, Tuesday, March 19 over Malita, Davao Occidental.

Even with no storm warning signals in place, PAGASA said that there will be “scattered to at times widespread moderate to heavy rains” over Surigao del Sur, Agusan del Sur, Davao Region, SOCCSKSARGEN, and portions of Northern Mindanao, Bangsamoro and Zamboanga Peninsula.

At 7 a.m. today, the Low Pressure area was estimated based on all available data at in the vicinity of Malungon, Sarangani (06.3 °N, 125.2 °E ), the latest PAGASA advisory said.
