Thunderstorm advisory hoisted over southern Luzon

(Eagle News) — A thunderstorm advisory has been hoisted over the southern part of Luzon.

In an advisory issued at 12:44 p.m., the Philippines Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said moderate to heavy rainshowers with lightning and strong winds are expected in Aroroy and Mandaon in Masbate and in Sibuyan Island in Romblon.

The conditions, PAGASA said, may persist within 1 to 2 hours and may affect nearby areas.

“All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards which include flash floods and landslides,” PAGASA said.

“Keep monitoring for updates,” PAGASA added.
