Thunderstorm advisory hoisted over parts of N. Luzon

(Eagle News)–A thunderstorm advisory was hoisted over parts of Northern Luzon on Thursday, May 30.

In its 3:30 p.m. advisory, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said moderate to heavy rains with lightning and strong winds are being experienced over portions of Nueva Viscaya, particularly in Dupax del Sur, Dupax del Norte and Kasibu; and in Southern Isabela, specifically in San Guillermo and Echaguejones.

PAGASA said the rains due to thunderstorms may persist  within 1 to 2 hours and may affect nearby areas.

“All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards,” the weather bureau said.

It also  warned residents along mountain slopes against possible landslides,mudslides, rockslides and flashfloods.

“Keep monitoring for updates,” PAGASA said.
