Thunderstorm advisory hoisted over M. Manila, other areas on Wednesday, May 29

(Eagle News)–A thunderstorm advisory was hoisted over Metro Manila and other areas on Wednesday, May 29.

In its 2:11 p.m. advisory, the  Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said  heavy rainshowers with lightning and strong winds are also expected over Laguna, Tarlac and Zambales within the next 3 hours.

So far, the weather bureau said heavy to intense rainshowers with lightning and strong winds are being experienced in Nueva Ecija, particularly in Jaen, San Leonardo, Carranglan, Lupao, San Jose and Santa Rosa; in Bulacan, particularly in Doña Remedios, Trinidad, Norzagaray; in Cavite, specifically in Dasmariñas, General Trias, Silang, General Emilio Aguinaldo and Indang; in Batangas, particularly in Santo Tomas, Malvar, Tanauan; in Rizal, specifically in Tanay, Antipolo and Rodriguez; and in Quezon, specifically in General Nakar, Atimonan, Quezon, Calauag and Mauban.

PAGASA said the rains may persist within two hours and may affect nearby areas.

“All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards which include flash floods and landslides,” PAGASA said.

“Keep monitoring for updates,” the weather bureau said.
