(Eagle News)–Tropical Depression “Perla” has slowed down as it moved westward.
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said as of Wednesday night, the center of Tropical Depression “Perla” was estimated 985 kilometers east of Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.
It is packing maximum sustained winds of up to 45 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 55 kph.
No tropical cyclone wind signal is in effect but “Perla,” PAGASA said, may bring scattered rains over Batanes, Cagayan (including Babuyan Islands) and Apayao beginning Friday evening or Saturday morning.
Sea travel is risky, especially for small sea vessels, over the northern and western seaboards of Northern Luzon due to “potentially rough sea conditions associated with the northeasterly surface windflow,” the weather bureau said.
This weather disturbance is less likely to intensify into a tropical storm.
