(Eagle News)–Forty-four percent of Filipinos are very happy, while 37 percent are very satisfied with life, a recent Social Weather Stations survey found.
According to the SWS survey conducted from March 28 to 31, the 44 percent was a five-point increase from the 39 percent in December 2018.
“Prior to this, it had been declining for two consecutive quarters since the record-high 57% in December 2017,” the pollster said.
According to the SWS, the 5-point rise in the nationwide very happy score was due to increases of 14 points in Metro Manila, 12 points in the Visayas, and 7 points in Mindanao, combined with a 1-point decline in Balance Luzon.
The SWS said the 37% very satisfied with life, on the other hand, was a 3-point increase from the 34% in December 2018.
The SWS said this comes after a 22-point decline over two consecutive quarters since the record-high 56% in December 2017.
“The 3-point increase in the overall very satisfie with life score between December 2018 and March 2019 was due to increases of 10 points in Metro Manila, 2 points in Mindanao, and 1 point in both Balance Luzon and the Visayas,” the SWS said.
The survey used face-to-face interviews of 1,440 adults nationwide: 360 each in Balance Luzon, Metro Manila, the Visayas, and Mindanao.
Sampling error margins were pegged at ±2.6% for national percentages, and ±5% each for Balance Luzon, Metro Manila, the Visayas, and Mindanao.
