Storm signal over N. Abra lifted with “Ineng” now off southern coast of Pingtung, Taiwan

(Eagle News)–The tropical cyclone wind signal hoisted over Northern Abra has been lifted, with Severe Tropical Storm “Ineng”  now off the southern coast of Pingtung county in Taiwan.

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said “Ineng” which was estimated at 185 km northwest of Basco, Batanes is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility this afternoon.

Signal No. 2 remains hoisted over Batanes, while Signal No. 1 is in place over Cagayan including Babuyan Islands, Apayao, and Ilocos Norte.

PAGASA said moderate to heavy rains will affect Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Batanes, Cagayan (including Babuyan Islands), Zambales, Bataan, Mindoro Provinces, and northern portions of Palawan (including Calamian and Cuyo Islands).

Light to moderate with intermittent heavy rains, on the other hand, will be experienced over Metro Manila, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Aklan, Antique, Iloilo, Guimaras, and the rest of Cagayan Valley and Central Luzon.

Occasional gusty conditions will still prevail over most of Luzon and Western Visayas due to the southwest monsoon, PAGASA said.

Sea travel remains risky over the seaboards of areas under a signal, and the seaboards of Luzon due to potentially rough sea conditions.
