Signal No. 1 over Negros Occidental lifted as “Samuel” heads toward Cuyo archipelago

(Eagle News) — Tropical Depression “Samuel” is now traversing the Sulu Sea and is headed toward the Cuyo archipelago.

The Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal #1 over northern Negros Occidental, therefore, has been lifted.

Signal No. 1, however, remains hoisted over Romblon, southern Occidental Mindoro, southern Oriental Mindoro, and Palawan including Calamian and Cuyo groups of islands, Guimaras, Iloilo, Capiz, Aklan, and Antique, as “Samuel,” whose eye is located 65 kilometers south southeast of Cuyo, Palawan as of 4 p.m.,  moves westward at 30 kilometers per hour.

“Samuel” is packing maximum winds of up to 45 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 60 kilometers per hour.

PAGASA said moderate to heavy rains, are also expected over Palawan including Calamian and Cuyo groups of islands, Aurora, Quezon, Mindoro Provinces, Panay island, and Guimaras.
