QUEZON City, Philippines (Eagle News) — Senator Grace Poe wants members of the Philippine National Police (PNP) to wear body cameras during police operations after the Senate’s investigation on the death of Kian De Los Santos.
“Yung sinasabi ninyong mas importante ang baril kesa sa body cam–ito’y magpoprotekta lang din sa ating mga pulis. Kasi ngayon, sasabihin ‘hindi naman nanlaban,’ e kung talagang nanlaban? At least, mayroon kayong pruweba sa totoong pangyayari,” Poe said.
Senator Poe, the vice-chairperson of the committee, in a press release said a policy requiring body-worn cameras should be put in place. This will also help those conducting review of cases to have indisputable evidence on how the operations were carried out.
