Senate mulls forming National Transport Safety Board after N. Ecija bus tragedy

QUEZON CITY, Philippines (Eagle News) — Senator Grace Poe, chairperson of the Senate committee on public services, called for the formation of a National Transport Safety Board following the bus tragedy in Nueva Ecija on Tuesday, April 18.

The tragedy resulted in the death of more than 30 people.

The senator  filed Senate Bill No. 162 or the NTSB Act that, if passed, will allow for the formation of a board tasked to investigate accidents involving transportation, such as aircraft, railroads, and boats and ships.

Poe said that an independent NTSB will facilitate faster inquiry on accidents involving public transportation.
