Senate blue ribbon panel to probe alleged corruption in PCSO

(Eagle News)–The Senate blue ribbon committee will probe what President Rodrigo Duterte said was the “massive corruption” in the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office.

Blue ribbon panel chair Richard Gordon said the probe would take place late next week.

He said this was after a probe into the allegations of conflict of interest against Health Secretary Francisco Duque III.

The alleged “massive corruption”  prompted Duterte to order all forms of gambling within the PCSO mandate terminated.

He said the order covered STL, keno, peryahan ng bayan and lotto.

According to Duterte, courts were also involved in the “massive corruption,” prompting the Supreme Court to order all first and second-level courts to submit to it all PCSO-related cases since January 2018.
