Scattered rainshowers, thunderstorms to prevail in parts of country as LPA affects Mindanao

(Eagle News)—Scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms are expected to prevail in parts of the country today, May 11, as a low pressure area affects Mindanao.

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said Caraga, and Northern Mindanao will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms due to the LPA embedded in the Intertropical Convergence Zone  and located 70 kilometers east northeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur as of 2 a.m.

Flashfloods or landslides due to scattered light to moderate to at times heavy rains are also possible.

The weather bureau said Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms, this time due to the southwesterlies.

The rest of the country, on the other hand, will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to localized
thunderstorms.

In Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao light to moderate winds and slight  to moderate coastal waters are possible.
