(Eagle News)–Davao Mayor Sara Duterte on Friday, Aug. 2, said she would “pray for wisdom” before deciding if she would run for President or not.
“Before I think about that, I should ask God first, ‘Is this for me?'” the presidential daughter said in a television interview.
According to the Davao mayor, “based on life experience, everything will be easier if it’s the plan of God.”
“Siguro para hindi tayo magkamali, we need to pray for wisdom on who to go about it and how to decide,” she said.
The presidential daughter is currently serving her third and last term as mayor of Davao.
Some have called for her to run for president in 2022, when her father, President Rodrigo Duterte, steps down.
At one point,Senator Panfilo Lacson called the presidential daughter his top choice among emerging young leaders for President, citing her strong will, progressive mind and good leadership qualities, among others.
The Davao mayor, however, has remained coy about her political plans.
