(Eagle News)—Rappler on Wednesday, May 8, slammed the Palace anew, after it released matrices tagging the media outfit anew in what it said was an ouster plot against President Rodrigo Duterte.
“We’ve long moved from laughable to farce. These moves are insidious and dangerous,” Rappler said.
According to Rappler, “as technology has proven, a lie told a million times becomes the truth.”
“More so when it’s a concerted campaign from social media, government co-opted media, and from the podium of power, Malacañang,” it said.
“It’s clear there will be consequences if journalists keep asking questions. But independent media will not be silenced or intimidated by silly diagrams and lousy scripts,” it added.
The Palace had tagged the media outfit in the first matrix it released of the alleged ouster plot against Duterte.
Apart from Rappler, other tagged media outfits in the matrices were Vera Files and the Philippine Center for Investigative Journalism.
The Palace said the Liberal Party and Magdalo were also involved in the supposed plot.
All have denied the allegations.
