Rains expected in parts of PHL today

(Eagle News)–Rains are expected in parts of the country today, Sept. 15.

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said the entire Visayas, Palawan including Kalayaan Group of Islands, and Occidental Mindoro will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms due to the low pressure area estimated 225 kilometers west northwest of Catarman, Northern Samar or 40 km west of Pili, Camarines Sur.

PAGASA said cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms will also be experienced over Bicol region, Northern Samar, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque and Romblon.

Moderate to heavy rains, on the other hand, are expected over Quirino (Aglipay, Cabarroguis and Saguday) and Nueva Vizcaya (Alfonso Castaneda) within 30 minutes to an hour.

Meanwhile, moderate to heavy rains are being experienced over Aurora, other parts of Quirino (Nagtipunan and Maddela) and Isabela (San Agustin, portions of Jones, Echague and San Guillermo) which may persist within one to two hours.

Moderate to strong winds are expected over these areas, which will have  moderate to rough seas.

“All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards,” PAGASA said.
