Rainfall advisory raised over parts of Mindanao

(Eagle News) — A rainfall advisory has been raised over parts of Mindanao.

According to the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration, light to moderate to at times heavy rain showers with lightning and strong winds are affecting portions of Bukidnon (Malitbog, Talakag, Manolo Fortich, Valencia City, Quezon), Misamis Oriental (Lugait, Tagoloan, Villanueva, Jasaan, Claveria, Gingoog), Lanao del Norte (IliganCity, Balo-i, Piagapo, Pantar, Pantao Ragat, Munai, Salvador, Kapatagan, Sapad).

Davao Oriental (Boston, Cateel), portions of Davao City, Surigao del Norte (San Francisco, Sison, Malimono, Tubod, Bauag), Agusan del Sur (Bayugan City, Prosperidad, San Luis, San Francisco, Talacogon, La Paz) Agusan Del Norte (Kitcharao, Jabonga, Santiago, Tubay), Lanao del Sur (Marawi City, Piagapo, Marantao, Balindong, Calanogas, Picong, Malabang, Marogong, Lumbayanague, Masiu, Lumba-Bayabao, Sultan Dumalondong, Kapatagan), and North Cotabato (Kabacan, Antipas, Arakan, President Roxas, Matalam) are experiencing light to moderate rains.

The same conditions prevail over South Cotabato (Lake Sebu, T’Boli, Gen. Santos City, Polomolok), Sarangani (Alabel, Malapatan, Malungon, Maitum, Maasim), Sultan Kudarat ( Sen. Ninoy Aquino, Kalamansig, Lebak), and Maguindanao (Barira, Matanog, Buldon).

Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur (Pagadian, Guipos, San Miguel, Kumalarang, Bayog, Lakewood, Midsalip, Labangan), Zamboanga Sibugay (Buug, Siay, Kabasalan, Naga, Ipil, Roseller Lim, Tungawan), portions of Zamboanga City, Basilan, and Sulu are also experiencing these conditions.

PAGASA said the weather conditions may persist within one to two hours and may affect nearby areas.

“All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards which include flash floods and landslides,” PAGASA said.
