President Duterte says he hopes his grandson would become mayor of Davao in the future

(Eagle News) — President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday said he hoped one of his grandsons would become mayor of Davao someday.

In particular, he said he wished Omar Duterte, the son of former Davao Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte and Paolo Duterte and Lovelie Sumera, would assume the post he himself held for over 20 years before he became President.

He said as for him, he no longer wanted to extend his term because of his old age.

The President is 72 years old.

“Mag-interest na lang ako ‘yung apo ko maging mayor ng Davao, okay na ‘yan. At least may dumaang mayor na Muslim,” he said.
