(Eagle News)–President Rodrigo Duterte is now in Russia for his five-day official visit in the country.
The President arrived at the Vnukovo Military Base Airport in Moscow, where he was welcomed by Philippine Ambassador to Russia Carlos Sorreta and Russian Ambassador to the Philippines Igor Khovaev.
During the President’s visit, he is expected to have a bilateral meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Both leaders are expected to witness the exchange of several agreements between the Philippines and Russia.
The President is also expected to attend the Valdai Discussion Club in Sochi, and a forum with Russian business leaders.
The President will also meet with the Filipino community in Moscow during his trip.
This is the second time President Duterte visited the Russian Federation.
He first visited the country in May 2017, but this was cut short by the Marawi siege that saw Maute terrorists overrun Marawi in a bid to supposedly establish an Islamic caliphate in Southeast Asia.
