Police release Faeldon’s son after prosecutor’s office dismisses case filed vs him

(Eagle News) – Police has released Nicanor Faeldon Jr., the son and namesake of Bureau of Corrections chief, Nicanor Faeldon, after his case connected to an alleged illegal drug den has been dismissed.

Earlier, Faeldon Jr., had tested negative for drug use.

The Naga City Prosecutor’s Office issued a resolution that said there was no sufficient evidence to prove that the house which Faeldon Jr., was visiting at the time of the arrest was indeed a drug den on December 14 in Naga City.

The police also reportedly released two of Faeldon’s companions, a certain Manuel Nebres and Allan Valdez, according to a radio report from DZBB.

Another person who was arrested at the time, Russel Lanuzo, the father of Faeldon’s girlfriend, will still be facing illegal drug possession charges. The elder Lanuzo had earlier tested positive for illegal drug use.

Faeldon Jr., was earlier charged with operating and allegedly maintaining a drug den, or for violating Section 6 of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 or Republic Act 9165

The Prosecutor’s office, however, said there was insufficient evidence to prove that the house in Naga City which Faeldon was visiting at the time and where the police made the arrests on December 14 was indeed a drug den.
