(Eagle News)—The Philippine National Police will intensify its intelligence-monitoring activities following the deadly blasts that killed over 200 in Sri Lanka on Sunday, April 21.
PNP Chief Oscar Albayalde said this was in light of the “possibility” that those responsible for the gruesome act would seek refuge in other countries, including the Philippines.
So far, Sri Lanka authorities have arrested at least 13 in connection with the blasts, which took place as Catholics celebrated Easter.
“Hindi natin ipinagsasawalang-bahala na posibleng may threat pero as of this time wala naman nakukuha,” Albayalde said.
He also sympathized with Sri Lanka over the blasts, which he called an “apparent act of terrorism.”
“The PNP expresses solidarity in the international law and community in condemning these uncivil acts of violence against civilian targets that were carried out for no other purpose but to sow fear and terror,” he said.
