PNP: Seven killed in anti-drug ops from March 28 to April 1

Seven people have been killed in anti-drug operations conducted from March 28 to April 1.

Based on Philippine National Police records, four were killed in Region 3, one in Region 4A, one in Region 12 and another in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.

Over 800, or 811, were arrested during the 505 operations conducted, with 333 arrests coming from the National Capital Region Police Office.

During the holidays, the PNP recorded 39 drowning incidents—10 from the Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon area; nine from Central Luzon; eight from the Cagayan Valley region; five from the Bicol region; two from the Davao region; and one each from Ilocos, Pangasinan, Central Visayas, Eastern Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Southern Mindanao and the Caraga region.

The PNP also recorded 10 vehicular incidents during that period of time.

Of the 10, four took place in Central Luzon, 2  in Bicol and one each in the Cordillera, Caraga and  Cagayan Valley regions.

The PNP earlier said the long holidays were generally peaceful.

PNP Chief Ronald dela Rosa said this was despite some attacks conducted by members of the New People’s Army.
