The Philippine National Police has reshuffled several of its high-ranking officials following the retirement of some of their colleagues.
Director Noli Taliño was re-appointed to the Special Action Force unit, where he was assigned as deputy chief when 44 SAF members and several others were killed in the botched Mamasapano operation in Maguindanao in 2015.
When then-Director Getulio Napeñas was relieved over the incident, Taliño was appointed officer in charge of the elite force.
Taliño was replaced by Director Cedrick Train at the Directorate for Human Resources, Doctrine and Development.
Director Noel Constantino of the Directorate for Police Community Relations, meanwhile, took Train’s place at the Directorate for Integrated Police Operations-Western Mindanao.
Constantino was replaced by Director Eduardo Garado, whose post was given to Director Benjamin Lusad.
Chief Supt. Elmo Sarona was assigned to the Directorate for Investigation and Detective Management in place of Director Augusto Marquez, who retired on Tuesday.
Chief Superintendent Edward Carranza from the Health Service was assigned to Cordillera.
Meanwhile, Chief Superintendent Emmanuel Licup from the Directorate for Operations, and Chief Supt. Wilben Mayor of Region 4B swapped positions.
Chief Superintendent Robert Quenery from Region 2 was transferred to Region 7 in place of Chief Superintendent Jose Mario Espino, who was assigned to Region 10.
Chief Superintendent Timoteo Pacleb from Region 10 took over Quenery’s post.
“Regular naman ang pagtransfer, reassignment. May reassignment based on the assessment of how an officer can help contribute to the task of the PNP in 2018,” Chief Supt. Dionard Carlos, PNP spokesperson, said.
