(Eagle News) — Over P4 million worth of illegal drugs were seized in separate buy-bust operations in Mindanao over the weekend.
According to the Philippine National Police, the operations on Sunday, Aug. 21, that yielded the seizure of P4.624 million worth of shabu also led to the arrest of Sanny Lloyd Mamaluba and Jalil Malawi Ampasoc.
Of the total amount of shabu seized, P3.4 million worth of shabu was seized from Mamaluba in Barangay Fatima, General Santos City.
The remaining P1,224,000 million was seized from Jalil Malawi Ampasoc in Barangay Macabalan, Cagayan de Oro City.
“I laud our personnel for keeping the momentum of the anti-criminality drive. The suspects will be facing charges against Republic Act 9165,” PNP Chief Gen. Rodolfo Azurin Jr. said.
According to Azurin, from July 1 to August 20, the PNP arrested 8,934 drug suspects and seized 805.63 kgs of crystal meth, 83.33 kgs of marijuana, among others.
