(Eagle News)–The Philippine National Police on Friday, June 7, ordered radio broadcaster Erwin Tulfo to surrender his firearms following the expiration of his license to own and possess firearms in May.
“If the LTOPF is already expired, then there is no more reason for an individual to keep firearms even if these firearms are still valid, if the licenses are valid,” PNP spokesperson Col. Bernard Banac said.
According to Banac, the firearms “need to be surrendered for temporary safekeeping.”
The PNP’s order came after Tulfo was heavily criticized for calling Social Welfare Secretary Rolando Bautista names on air when the government official failed to grant him a live interview.
Tulfo has since apologized.
