(Eagle News)– Authorities have arrested a member of the New People’s Army involved in a kidnapping incident last year, the Philippine National Police said.
PNP Chief Director General Ronald dela Rosa said Donato Jacob, a leader of the NPA’s Sandatahang Yunit Propaganda and NPA “tax collector,” was nabbed in Obando, Bulacan on Saturday.
He said Jacob had a warrant for his arrest issued by the Malolos City Regional Trial Court Branch 14 for robbery with intimidation filed by a fishpond operator.
According to Dela Rosa, Jacob also played a role in the kidnapping of Raziel Bungay in Biñan, Laguna in December.
Killed during the rescue operation for Bungay was Superintendent Arthur Masungsong and four kidnappers, Dela Rosa said.
He said another suspect managed to escape.
