PNP gives assurance human rights will be respected in ops vs loiterers

(Eagle News)–Philippine National Police chief Director General Oscar Albayalde on Saturday, June 16, gave the assurance human rights will be respected in the police’s operations against loiterers.

“Alam naman po nila [police] na meron tayong sinusunod na police operational procedures,” he said in an interview over dzbb.

Albayalde said President Rodrigo Duterte’s directive against loiterers was not new.

In fact, he said when he was director of the National Capital Region Police Office, Oplan RODY, or Oplan Rid the Streets of Drunkards and Youths, was already being implemented.

“Para din naman ‘yan sa kanilang safety,” Albayalde said.
