(Eagle News) — Tickets for all Southeast Asian Games competitions, except basketball, volleyball and football, will be given for free to the public.
Ramon Suzara, chief operating officer of the Philippine Southeast Asian Games Organizing Committee, made the confirmation in a televised press conference at the New Clark City on Friday, Nov. 29.
According to Suzara, the complimentary tickets were upon the instructions of President Rodrigo Duterte on Thursday, Nov. 28.
He said the free tickets would be coursed through local government units.
“Second, the tickets will come from SM tickets,” he said.
“We need to issue tickets for security reasons…Each venue has its own rules,” he added.
He said football, volleyball and basketball were not covered by Duterte’s instructions because the tickets for these events were already sold out.
Earlier, Duterte also ordered the giving out of 10,000 free tickets for the closing ceremonies of the biennial sporting event to be held in New Clark City in Tarlac on December 11.
