PH to break 2 Guinness World Records today

The Philippines are on the verge to re-enter the record books, again courtesy of the religious group Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC).

As part of the INC centennial celebrations at the Ciudad De Victoria in Bocaue, Bulacan, it is poised to break the Guiness World Records of the ‘Biggest Gospel Choir’ and the ‘Biggest Theater Crowd’.

About 2 to 3 million people, mostly members of the INC, were expected to turn up for the event. Coming from various areas in Metro Manila and other provinces, they began their trip to Bocaue on board thousands of buses and other vehicles as early as Saturday afternoon.

According to Glicerio Santos Jr., INC General Auditor, they have applied to break the choir record . The United States currently hold the Guiness Record when it celebrated its Black History Month last January. A total of 1,171 choir members participated in the event.

The INC’s ‘10,000 Voices’ program are expected to break the record as choir members from different church locales have trooped in to one location. Various church activities are scheduled throughout the rest of the day inside the Philippine Arena (a recent Guiness Record breaker itself) including oratories and the stage play “Ang Sugo”.
