PDEA nabs two alleged members of African drug cartel

(Eagle News) — The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency on Saturday announced the arrest of two Nigerians who were allegedly members of an African drug cartel operating in Bicol and the Calabarzon area.

PDEA Director General Aaron Aquino said Agu Agustin Chukwuebuka and Nkwocha Chimaobi were nabbed after they sold 11 sachets  containing 500 grams of what was believed to be shabu  to a poseur-buyer in a parking lot of a fast food in Talaba, Bacoor, Cavite.

The sachets were hidden inside cellphone charger adaptors.

Aquino said the operation was launched based on a tip provided by drug suspects they previously arrested.

According to Aquino, a check showed of the 11 sachets recovered from the suspects, nine sachets contained isopropylbenzalylamine and not shabu.

The two sachets which did contain shabu had an estimated value of more or less P500,000.

“Ang assessment ng PDEA, kumukonti na ang supply ng shabu kaya nandadaya na ang mga pusher,” Aquino said.

Drug charges are slated to be filed against the two Nigerians, who are in PDEA custody.
