PBBM orders streamlining of permits process for infrastructure flagship projects

(Eagle News)–President Bongbong Marcos has ordered the streamlining of the permits process for infrastructure flagship projects (IFPs).

In issuing Executive Order No. 59, the President said there was a need to particularly further streamline the process for the issuance of required licenses, clearances, permits, certifications or authorizations “to expedite the implementation of IFPs, consistent with RA 9485, as amended.”

The EO stipulates clauses on online processes and/or electronic submission and acceptance, the simultaneous processing of applications, and digital payment fees.

He said the EO applies to all national government agencies, including government-owned or -controlled corporations and other government instrumentalities, local government units (LGUs) involved in the issuance of licenses, clearances, permits, certifications or authorizations required for approval of IFPs.

The government said, so far, there are 185 IFPs approved by the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA).
