Pasay court allows Pampanga Rep. Arroyo to travel abroad

QUEZON CITY, Philippines (Eagle News) –A Pasay City regional trial court issued a decision allowing Pampanga Representative Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo to travel abroad for vacation and official business.

Judge Jesus Mupas of Pasay City Regional Trial Court Branch 112 issued the decision allowing the former President to go to Japan, Hong Kong and Myanmar from December 26, 2017 to January 12, 2018.

Mupas approved Arroyo’s request after her lawyers Ferdinand Topacio and Joselito Lomangaya submitted a “very urgent supplemental motion for leave to travel abroad” and paid the travel bond of Php 700,000.

Topacio submitted Arroyo’s motion to travel abroad in November 2017 after the Sandiganbayan dismissed her graft case over the botched national broadband project deal with the Chinese firm ZTE Corp.
