Pangilinan dares Duterte: Give Robredo three years, not six months, to enforce laws

(Eagle News)–Make it three years.

Senator Kiko Pangilinan had this to say to President Rodrigo Duterte, after the chief executive said he was ready to give Vice President Leni Robredo the post of drug czar for six months.

Duterte issued the comment after Robredo said the drug war had failed to curb the number of drug users in the country.

In making the offer, Duterte criticized members of the opposition, who he said only kept on riding on issues.

Robredo in particular, he said, keeps on harping on human rights.

“As a matter of fact, I am sending her a letter  through ES [Salvador] Medialdea. I will surrender my powers to enforce the law, ibigay ko sa Vice President. Ibigay ko sa kanya mga six months. Siya ang magdala. Tignan natin kung ano ang mangyari. Hindi ako makialam. Mas bright ka? Sige, ikaw, subukan mo,” Duterte had said.

But according to Pangilinan, it was only “fair” for Robredo, a Liberal Party member like him, to be given three years instead since  “3 years na nilang hawak ang law enforcement..”

“Bakit naman 6 months lang? Gawin na nilang three years at sigurado ako hindi na papalusutin ang tonetoneladang shabu sa (Bureau of Customs), wala ng ang araw araw na patayan ng mahihirap nating mga kababayan habang mga ninja cops at sindikato ay binibigyan ng mataas na posisyon, pinalalaya dahil sa (Good Conduct Time Allowance Law) o inaabswelto at sigurado na hindi na tayo walang imik at sunud sunuran sa China,” Pangilinan said.
