Palace on Mar Roxas’ advice on how to address rice issue in PHL: It’s best he keep his silence

(Eagle News)—It’s best he keep his silence.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque had this to say to former Interior Secretary Mar Roxas, after he gave what the Palace considered to be unsolicited advice in addressing the rice problem in the country.

“Dahil sa kanyang karanasan doon sa Leyte ay mabuti pong manahimik na siyang muli,” Roque said in a radio interview.

According to Roque, “alam naman natin kung ano ang ginawa niya sa Yolanda, sabi niya ‘no one is in charge.’”

“Hindi po ganyan ang kinakailangan ng bayan sa panahon ng aberya at hayaan na po natin na umusad ang mga proseso ng mabigay ang mga pangangailangan ng taumbayan sa mga ganitong mga panahon,” Roque said.

Roxas lost to President Rodrigo Duterte in the 2016 presidential elections.

He is reportedly being eyed to run for senator under the Liberal Party ticket in 2019.
