Palace assures public President Duterte in the pink of health

(Eagle News)—The Palace on Monday, May 20, gave the assurance President Rodrigo Duterte’s health was “not a serious matter”  at this point.

Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo made the statement after rumors circulated over the weekend that the chief executive had been confined in the Cardinal Santos Medical Center in San Juan due to cardiac arrest.

The Palace immediately issued a statement denying the rumors, saying Duterte was merely resting in Malacañang.

Panelo quoted the President as neither confirming nor denying rumors he went to the San Juan hospital.

Bong Go, his former aide, then released pictures of him with the President holding a newspaper to further dispel the rumors.

“Sabi niya, ‘I neither confirm nor deny.’ You draw your own conclusions… In other words, para sa kanya, it’s not a serious matter kasi kung serious ‘yun, he always tells the public about it,” Panelo said.

“Let me assure the nation that if there is anything wrong with the President’s health serious enough to be of our concern, he will tell us and he said so himself,” Panelo added.
