(Eagle News) — Typhoon “Kammuri” has remained almost stationary in the last six hours but is still forecast to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility over the weekend.
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said as of 3 p.m., “Kammuri” was located 1455 kilometers east of Southern Luzon, packing maximum sustained winds of 140 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 170 kph.
PAGASA said “Kammuri” is forecast to enter PAR between Saturday evening and Sunday morning, and will then be called “Tisoy.”
According to the weather bureau, the typhoon is expected to make landfall in the Bicol region, after which it is forecast to pass by the Calabarzon area, and the Central Luzon area.
PAGASA said by tomorrow, the effects of “Kammuri”–cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers– will be felt in Bicol Region.
The typhoon is expected to pass by Northern Metro Manila.
At present, PAGASA said the northeast monsoon affecting Luzon is bringing scattered rainshowers and cloudy skies to Cagayan Valley, Cordillera, Aurora and Quezon.
Generally cloudy skies with scattered rains are expected in Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.
