(Eagle News)– Tropical Depression “Samuel” has moved south of Cuyo archipelago and is now approaching Palawan, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.
According to PAGASA, as of 7 p.m. the center of the tropical depression was located 85 kilometers southwest of Cuyo, Palawan, packing maximum sustained winds of up to 45 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 60 kilometers per hour.
“Samuel” is expected to make landfall in Northern Palawan between tonight and early tomorrow morning, as it moves west at 30 kilometers per hour.
Signal No. 1 is still hoisted over southern Occidental Mindoro, southern Oriental Mindoro, and Palawan including Calamian and Cuyo groups of islands, Aklan and Antique.
Moderate to heavy rains are still expected over Palawan including Calamian and Cuyo groups of islands, Aurora, Quezon, Mindoro Provinces, Panay island, and Guimaras, PAGASA said.
“Samuel” is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility between tomorrow evening and Friday morning.
