PAGASA: Northeast monsoon to affect extreme northern Luzon today

(Eagle News)—The northeast monsoon is expected to affect the extreme northern Luzon today, Feb. 9, resulting in rains in some parts.

According to the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the northeast monsoon are expected over Batanes and Babuyan Group of Islands.

Partly cloudy skies over the rest of Cagayan, Aurora, Abra, Benguet, Mt. Province, Ifugao, Kalinga, Apayao, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Isabela, Quirino and Nueva Vizcaya are on the other hand expected.

PAGASA said moderate to occasionally strong winds coming from the northeast winds will prevail over extreme northern Luzon and its coastal waters will be moderate to occasionally rough.

Light to moderate winds will prevail over the rest of northern Luzon and Aurora.
