(Eagle News)–The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration has monitored a low pressure area off Surigao del Sur.
PAGASA said the LPA was located 860 kilometers east northeast of Hinatuan.
Meanwhile, typhoon “Liwayway” was located 420 km northeast of Basco, Batanes,with maximum sustained winds of 140 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 170 kph.
“Liwayway” is moving northeast at 10 kph.
The southwest monsoon is also affecting Northern Luzon.
Ilocos Region, Cordillera
Administrative Region and Cagayan Valley will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon, PAGASA said, with flash floods or landslides due to occasional heavy rains possible.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country, on the other hand, will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to the southwest monsoon.
