(Eagle News)–“Paeng” will continue to bring rains in parts of the country as the tyhoon maintained its strength and continued to move slowly.
In its recent advisory, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said that as of 3 a.m. Thursday, the eye of “Paeng” was located 750 kilometers east of Basco, Batanes.
“Paeng” is packing maximum sustained winds of 160 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 195 kph.
According to PAGASA, Zamboanga Peninsula, northern Mindanao, and Caraga region will experience cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms brought about by the southwest monsoon.
Residents in these areas, the state weather bureau warned, should be prepared for possible flash floods or landslides due to scattered light to moderate to at times heavy rains.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country, on the other hand, will have partly cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to localized thunderstorms.
